Questions

Intestinal FAQs

What is the difference between crushing and non-crushing intestinal clamps?

Non-crushing clamps, such as Doyen clamps, have flexible jaws that occlude the bowel gently. Crushing clamps, such as Payr clamps, are used on bowel that is going to be removed.

What are Babcock forceps used for?

Babcock forceps have rounded, fenestrated jaws that grasp the bowel and other delicate tubular structures without piercing them.

Are intestinal clamps available curved and straight?

Yes. Most intestinal clamps are available in straight and curved patterns and in several lengths.

Can I order by catalogue code?

Yes. Every instrument has a catalogue code (for example SC-GI/035). Send us a list of codes, names or a photo of your tray and we will confirm availability and pricing, usually within one working day.

Can you build a complete set for this specialty?

Yes. We can match an existing tray list or help you put together a new set, supplied with every instrument labelled so it is easy to check and re-order.
