Questions

Quality questions

Can’t find your answer? Call or email us — we’re happy to help.

What grade of steel are your instruments made from?

Surgical-grade stainless steel: hardened martensitic steel for cutting edges and jaws, and austenitic steel where flexibility matters, such as retractors and handles.

What do you check before an instrument is dispatched?

Each instrument is opened, closed and checked by hand for finish, alignment, ratchet action, tips and cutting edges against its pattern. Anything that fails is set aside.

Can you supply certificates of conformity?

Yes. Certificates and conformity information are available for the instruments on your order — ask when you request a quote.

How should the instruments be cleaned and sterilised?

Follow your decontamination procedures and the manufacturer’s reprocessing instructions, which we can supply on request. Our article on instrument care covers the essentials.

What happens if an instrument develops a fault?

Faults in materials or manufacture are repaired or replaced. See our Returns & Warranty page for the details, or contact us with the code and a description of the fault.
